In shielded metal arc welding (often referred to as stick or arc welding), students will learn how to set up and use multi-process welding equipment and accessories. Students will learn the different electrodes/rods available to carry out specific weld types. Students then will use a multi-process welding machine set up for SMAW to perform the 5 basic weld joints in all positions, as well as open root groove welds.
